Disconnecting QuickBooks
How to end the connection, from either end, and what happens to the data afterwards.
From ZenBot
- Open ZenBot on your own machine — by default
http://localhost:3000. - Go to Integrations and choose QuickBooks.
- Select Disconnect, then confirm.
Reading stops immediately, and the accounting records ZenBot had stored are deleted from your machine.
From QuickBooks
You can also revoke access at the Intuit end, which works even if you no longer have access to the machine ZenBot runs on:
- Sign in to QuickBooks and open Apps, thenMy Apps.
- Find ZenBot in the list.
- Choose Disconnect.
Intuit invalidates the authorisation straight away, so no further reading is possible. Anything ZenBot had already synced remains on your machine until you remove it there — disconnect from inside ZenBot as well if you want it deleted.
What happens to your data
- Nothing is held by us. ZenBot runs on your hardware and does not send your accounting data to Context Loops Ltd. There is no copy on our side to delete, because there was never one to make.
- Synced records are deleted from your machine when you disconnect from inside ZenBot.
- Reports you have already produced are kept. They are your documents. Delete them yourself if you no longer want them.
- Your QuickBooks account is untouched. ZenBot only ever had read access, so disconnecting changes nothing in QuickBooks itself.
Connecting again later
Disconnecting is not permanent. You can link the same company again at any time — see Connecting QuickBooks. A fresh connection starts with a fresh authorisation and re-reads the data it needs.
